I opened my email and laughed when I saw this. Not because it’s funny but because it’s funny how the universe works. When I was in Orlando this weekend I said “gentrification” at least 10 times while my girlfriend and I drove around. We saw so many storefronts that looked commercial in areas that they didn’t belong; then I heard this track from Roy The Savage. Roy tackles the topic of gentrification that’s happening in East New York on this Coopatroopa produced cut today. The strings and drums present a beautiful backdrop but Roy takes the opposite route and uses the song to bring awareness to what’s happening with ENY becoming more gentrified by the day.
