South Carolina’s Kris Tru is one of the most consistent artists coming through the site right now. I feel like we get quality from him every couple of weeks and this is no different. “Hey Lover 2016” is his take on LL Cool J’s original but it’s an actual song; NOT him spitting over the original. The beat is chopped nicely with the Boyz II Men hook still playing softly in the background as Tru tells the young lady in the song why she should mess with him as opposed to her man.
