Coming from Uptown DC is Ras Nebyu, an indie artist that has embraced his Ethiopian and African-American roots while blending his Rastafarian & Pan-Africanist beliefs into a futuristic sound. He shares that part of his life on “Story” today.
Ras teams up with producer Corbin Butler for this hard hitting new one that features The Arckitech. His flow resembles that of a new age artist while his lyrical content is conscious. It may come off confusing because the beat is so advanced that it sounds more like a party record than one that illustrates how Uptown DC is and Ras’ beliefs. It’s a solid listen though and gives you a glimpse into his life.
