I love the fact that artists are speaking out about police brutality with their music, and even in some cases their actions. This is a story that needs to be told and whether it changes people’s minds now or in the future, this story will be heard. Atlanta’s AxJ takes this approach with his latest single, “Calm Down”.
While I love when an artist takes a political stance with this subject matter, this is by far the best song on the subject that I have heard. AxJ doesn’t hold back for one bar on this one, even addressing the fact that if he had a badge and shot someone that it would be ok and he would probably walk free. You can tell that this has been on his mind for quite some time and that he took his time addressing the situation to make it a perfect song. “Calm Down” is perfect and necessary listening for this week.
