The Detroit hip-hop scene is so good. There are so many great artists that are dropping music on a regular basis. Just last week I got to premiere Adam Reverie’s Soul Ties project before it was released for purchase. Earlier this year I got to premiere the debut project from Ant P titled Lone Wolf. Ant hit me up recently and said he wanted to premiere a new song but wanted to wait to let Rev get his shine for his project last week. Not many artists will do something like that and that’s why I respect Ant as well as the Detroit hip-hop scene.
For this premiere, Ant has teamed up with fellow Detroit artists/producers Hunnit Andretti & ILLuminati G while letting Indianapolis producer Harry Otaku handle the boards. This one is a freebie to get people more familiar with Ant as he prepares his upcoming Bad Luck Bundy project that’s in the works. Otaku gives us an eerie beat as Hunnit, Ant, & G warn their competitors that “they’re on thin ice” and are not to be messed with right now. Ant’s gruff style mixes with the exciting and uptempo verse/hook combo from the Cloudcatchers to make a damn good head nodding joint. You can enjoy this one below.
